Just want to let everyone, followers and visitors, know about a couple of changes to our website here at Rocket Rose Art.
As there isn’t going to be a newsletter this month, I first just need to let you know about a recent post I made.
- Making Fused Glass Reaction Test SamplesIn this fused glass video tutorial I’ll be showing you how I make some fused glass reaction sample strips.
Now I’ll move onto the changes we have made here at Rocket Rose Art.
Uploading Images Etc
First change, and I think this is a great one, is that when you comment now you can upload images of your work, as well as a few other file types, such as PDF documents if you want to share anything.
This will help us both when asking questions as I’ll be able to see what you mean. In that way I hope I can give you better responses.
Changes to Newsletter & Subscribing
Yes, I know, I’ve been a bit lazy with sending out newsletters, and that hasn’t helped.
I’ve also had several comments about the fact that monthly newsletters, when I do them, are a bit after the fact. If I post something early in the month it’s old news by the time you get the newsletter. If I don’t get that newsletter out on time, then it gets really old.
To get around this I’ve changed the subscription to now send you a notification each time I publish a post. I’m confident this won’t get annoying as I’m just not that regular at posting. Hopefully, I’ll get a bit better as I have quite a few projects accumulating that I need to post about.
As usual, the notification will include a link for you to unsubscribe if you wish.
I will only be sending newsletters when there is something I need to tell you about and using a post isn’t appropriate. Most likely that will be things I don’t want to make public on the website. Expect that to be very infrequent.
If you want to comment on this change, and I would love to know your thoughts, please use the Contact Us form.
Lastly, this is an idea we have toyed with for some time.
The idea is to feature glass artists in the blog and have a dedicated area of our website where those posts can be viewed. This will give some visibility for artists to promote themselves. This is something we all need to help each other achieve.
What I would do is post about the artist, using a profile that they would write and provide, along with a profile photo and photos of their work. The post would include several images of their work as well. It should also include links to their website and relevant pages. It may also include a simple contact form that would send an email to the artist directly.
We would then have a dedicated page that lists all the artists we have featured, with profile photos and links to our post and their website, if they have one.
I would really love to hear from you regards this, even if you think it’s a bad thing. There is a form below to send us your thoughts.
If you’ve stayed with me long enough to get down to here, thank you so much and please stay safe out there.
Submit Your Interest Level
Please include as much comment as possible so I can understand your feelings and make the right decision. Including your name and email address is only so I can eliminate spam responses. Also will need it if you are interested in being featured.
Remember, you don’t need a website to be featured.
