Greek Key Ring 5mm Sterling Silver Band

Description

A single 5 mm wide Greek Key pattern ring in sterling silver. This is a mystical pattern from ancient Greece. Related to ‘meander’ art. Possibly inspired by the Maender River in Asia Minor or to the meandering of labyrinths. This pattern was common in ancient Greek and Roman art.

All my jewellery is hand made in my home studio.

Each sterling silver band is made from hand measured and cut 5mm wide rectangular sterling silver patterned wire. Once the wire is cut to size it is annealed, hand worked and then shaped by using a ring mandrel. The ring is then put into a pickle to clean off any fire scale. The next step is to clean and polish. It is finally polished by hand to a high polish or Satin finish.

The ring comes in a sweet little velvet bag, ready for giving as a beautiful gift.
