Have you ever looked up and noticed the trails left by aircraft? Those tracks that lead to far away mysterious places. To known and unknown adventures. Take the trip.
The platter has a rich vibrant blue colour that will look great in many decors.
The plate is about 260mm x 260mm and at its highest 20mm.
How Was It Made?
The feature of this plate, the diagonal lines in the middle, was first assembled and fused prior to cutting and refining for inclusion in the final piece.
It was made by cutting numerous thin strips of glass, placing them on edge within a dammed up shape and fused into a single piece. This was then cut to the shape required for the plate and the edges refined.
To make the final plate, pieces of clear and transparent blue glass were cut and shaped to make the final rectangular piece. This was then all fused together in the kiln. Once removed the edges were ground again to give straight sides and then back in the kiln to get a polished finish.
This piece was then slumped into the final shape in a custom made form I designed and had made locally.
