Fused Glass Clock Project

Yes, it’s a schlock clock. It’s a bit tacky, but making this fused glass clock taught me some valuable lessons. The technique is new to me, but I really like the idea and will surely try again.

While it didn’t work out as I wanted, the process is well worth exploring in future glass fusing projects. Take the time and watch the video. It won’t be a waste of time.

Making a Fused Glass Halloween Style Clock

This fused glass project is all about making a clock with a scary, well sort of scary, Halloween theme. If you like clocks, and in particular fused glass clocks, consider this project.

The video tutorial includes techniques for cutting the glass on a ring saw, making the glass clock face, creating and cutting the custom decals we’ll use, applying enamel for the clock hour marks, drilling the hole for the mechanism to finally assembling the clock.

Fused Glass Clock for Jacob

Fused Glass Clock

My first attempt at a clock worked out fine, for a while at least. That is until the clock fractured through the hole I had drilled the hole for the movement. It was hanging on the wall in the studio at the time so you can guess what happened when it hit the concrete floor.

Time has come for another clock. This time as a gift for my grandson Jacob.
